Best English Willow Cricket Bats Under $250: Thanksgiving Sale Picks for 2026

A good English willow bat used to mean spending $350 to $500. This Thanksgiving, it doesn't. Our Thanksgiving Sale takes 50% off select English willow bats from Zee Sports, Protos, Gray Nicolls and Theory, which puts proper match bats under $250. These are some of the lowest prices in the US on English willow this season.

The catch is stock. Most of these bats are down to their last one to three, and when a model sells out at this price, it won't be back. Here are our picks, grouped by what kind of player each bat suits, with live sale prices.

Why English willow is worth it under $250

English willow is softer and more fibrous than Kashmir willow. For its size it's usually lighter and more responsive off the face, which is why it's the willow you see at every professional level. Kashmir willow is harder, heavier and cheaper, which makes it a fine first bat or backup. If you play regular leather-ball cricket, English willow is the upgrade you'll feel. Our full comparison is in English Willow vs Kashmir Willow.

At half price, the usual gap between the two shrinks a lot. That's what makes this sale a good time to move up.

Best Grade 1 English willow under $250

Protos WhirlWind English Willow: $232.12 (was $464.23), 3 left. Made from Grade 1 English willow and built for power and control. If you want the best willow grade on this list, start here.

Zee Sports Woodpecker Gold One: $224.83 (was $449.66), only 1 left. Our own Grade 1 English willow bat with a mid-to-low sweet spot, a strong choice on the slower, lower-bouncing pitches common in US club cricket.

Best for big hitters

Gray Nicolls Omega XRD GN3: $237.63 (was $475.25), 5 left. The Omega XRD has Gray Nicolls' XRD handle, designed to reduce the sting you feel on off-center hits. This is the deepest stock on the sale, but at this price it won't last.

Protos Pro Tornado: $222.50 (was $444.99), 2 left. A dependable English willow bat for nets, training and matches.

Protos Cyclone: $202.50 (was $404.99), only 1 left. Grade 2 English willow with a robust profile and a large sweet spot, built for players who want power and precision.

Zee Sports White Edition: $174.83 (was $349.66), 3 left. A big center spot and a mid-to-bottom strike zone for powerful front-foot players. Available in Short Handle and Long Blade.

Best all-rounders and stroke players

Gray Nicolls Kaboom Warner GN2.5 Mid Profile: $199.50 (was $399.00), only 1 left. David Warner's signature Kaboom bat in English willow, with a mid profile for an all-round pickup. The photos show the actual bat you'll receive.

Zee Sports Blue Steel: $174.83 (was $349.66), 3 left. A club-level Grade 2 English willow bat with a mid-to-low profile, built for balanced stroke play that can still attack.

Gray Nicolls Predator3 4 Star PP: $199.50 (was $399.00), only 1 left. Handcrafted Gray Nicolls English willow in the classic Predator3 orange, red and black. You get the exact bat in the photos.

Best lightweight and budget English willow

Zee Sports Woodpecker White Three: $139.83 (was $279.66), only 1 left. The lowest-priced English willow bat on the sale, built for balance, light weight and a professional feel. Ideal if you like quick hands at the crease.

Theory English Willow (Totally Cricket): $174.50 (was $349.00), only 1 left. Genuine English willow from Theory by Totally Cricket, with clean straight grains and a full natural face. The photos are of the actual bat.

Bat + gloves bundles at half price

If you need gloves too, two Gray Nicolls bundles are on the sale, one of each:

How to choose between them

  1. Get the size right first. Most adults use a Short Handle (SH). Taller players (about 6'2" and up) should look at Long Handle or Long Blade. See our cricket bat size chart.
  2. Match the sweet spot to your pitches. Mid-to-low sweet spots suit the slower, lower-bouncing pitches common in US club cricket. Front-foot drivers do well with a lower middle.
  3. Pick the weight you can control. A lighter bat you can swing fast usually beats a heavier one you can't. More in Role of Bat Weight.
  4. Look after it. Our cricket bat care guide covers preparing and storing a new English willow bat.
